Solar reverse osmosis station for the purification of Saharan brackish water.
Water from desert boreholes has high mineralization (3.5g/L to 7.2g/L TDS). CSH deploys modular solar reverse osmosis units treating water without harsh chemicals.
The high pressure membranes are driven by solar axial piston pumps offering an energy efficiency of 3.5 kWh/m³. The system produces 12 m³ of drinking water with a salinity < 0.3g/L per day.
The rejected brines are directed to solar evaporation basins sealed by geomembrane, allowing the recovery of salt for livestock feed.
