Planting native trees (Acacia Raddeana) powered by solar drip irrigation.
The violent winds cause the advance of sand dunes (Ergs) which silt up wells, tracks and grazing areas. The CSH carries out mechanical and biological dune fixation projects.
The CSH produces Acacia Raddeana and Desert Argan seedlings in its solar nurseries, hardy species with deep roots that fix the soil and are resistant to extreme drought.
Initial watering of young shoots is provided by an underground drip network powered by solar pumping, saving 85% water compared to conventional watering.
